Lacroix: We Needed to Be More Solid Defensively

French national team defender Maxence Lacroix commented on the 2-0 loss to Spain in the World Cup semi-finals. The Crystal Palace footballer came off the bench, replacing the injured William Saliba.

“We were close to our goal... Things didn't go as we wanted. Nevertheless, we leave with our heads held high, considering everything we achieved in this tournament. France should have performed better. We lacked that final, decisive action. Defensively, we also needed to be much more reliable,” Lacroix stated.
