Konrad Laimer: We Fought with Honor Until the Last Second

Austria midfielder Konrad Laimer didn't hide his disappointment after their heavy 3-0 loss to Spain, which saw his team eliminated in the World Cup Round of 16. He acknowledged the opponent's class but added that his team fought with honor until the very last second.

“Playing against Spain when they have full control of the ball is physically exhausting. Yamal and Dani Olmo constantly switched positions, making us run aimlessly. We lost our defensive organization after halftime. We are disappointed, but we fought with honor until the last second,” Laimer stated.
