Klopp: Salah is one of the greatest of all time

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has hailed Mohamed Salah as one of the greatest players of all time. The German brought the "Egyptian Pharaoh" to Anfield from Roma in 2017 for £34 million, a move that proved to be one of the biggest transfer coups ever. Salah currently boasts 255 goals for the Merseyside club and is sure to add to his tally before the season concludes.

"It was a pleasure, it was a challenge, it was hard work from both sides. I'm almost certain there was a moment in Mo's life when he dreamed of achieving what he has achieved. I couldn't have imagined that what he did – his statistics, his performances – was even possible. I'm almost certain some of his achievements will never be replicated.

The goals he scored, the consistency he showed, the desire and eagerness grew bigger and bigger. Every year he came back after the summer break with a new skill, a new idea.

He was part of the best attacking trio in world football for a long time – and he was the one who always had the highest numbers, so that speaks volumes. It's not easy to be ahead of Mané and Firmino. Sadio could play in midfield. Bobby was the genius. But Mo was the one whose mind was always on the goal. You can't coach that.

That's why it was a challenge, because if you wanted to rotate him, to substitute him after 87 minutes, you could see an expression on his face that said, 'I could have scored three goals in the last five minutes!'

I really hope he enjoys the rest of the season, and I truly hope that in the final game, all of you will have a smile on your face and simply be happy and grateful that you were part of one of the most incredible careers we will ever witness. One of the greatest of all time, definitely!" Klopp stated.
