Andrea Kimi Antonelli may not have won the final race before the Formula 1 summer break, but he led the pack for several laps at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The young Italian has now recorded his tenth consecutive race leading for at least one lap. This achievement places him in a highly exclusive club, alongside nine other drivers, each of whom boasts at least two world championships.
This elite group consists of drivers who have led at least one lap in a minimum of ten consecutive races. Lewis Hamilton tops the list with 18, followed by Jackie Stewart with 17. Michael Schumacher completes the top three with 15. Other members include Max Verstappen (14), Sebastian Vettel (13), Ayrton Senna (12), Fernando Alonso (12), Alain Prost (10), Jim Clark (10), and Antonelli (10).
In fact, since the start of the 2026 season, Antonelli has only failed to lead a lap at the Australian Grand Prix, which kicked off the campaign. Following that, the Mercedes driver secured five consecutive victories in China, Japan, Miami, Canada, and Monaco. A slightly tougher series of races then followed in Barcelona, Austria, and Great Britain, where the Italian recorded two DNFs, yet still managed to lead at least one lap in each. Antonelli returned to winning ways in Belgium before finishing third at the Hungaroring just before the summer break, which concludes at the end of next week with the Dutch Grand Prix.
