Khamzat Chimaev is keeping up his busy schedule through the end of the calendar year. The former UFC middleweight champion is set to square off against MMA veteran Jorge Masvidal in a submission-only grappling match.
The newly founded ALF League announced on Sunday that the clash between the two will headline their inaugural event, scheduled for December 4 at The Agenda in Dubai.
This will be Chimaev's sixth appearance outside the MMA cage since dropping the middleweight title to Sean Strickland at UFC 328 this past May. He has already logged four appearances under the RAF promotion, earning victories over former UFC champions Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley, longtime welterweight contender Gilbert Burns, and Dillon Danis. Prior to his December bout, Chimaev is also slated to headline an RAF event against Colby Covington in Abu Dhabi on November 14.
Masvidal has also stayed active since his final UFC bout in 2023. "Gamebred" dropped a unanimous decision to Nate Diaz in a boxing match in July 2024 and has continually teased a potential return to the Octagon.
