The police in Kano have said that only 35 people have been confirmed dead in the explosion which occurred at the Central Mosque in the state on Friday, November 28.

Lemu also said that 150 people were injured in the blast which occurred as Muslim faithful were gathering for Jumaat prayers.
This figure sharply contrasts with eyewitness accounts which put the casualty figure in the hundreds.
The Kano Central Mosque is one of the largest in the state and is where the Emir of Kano observes the Friday prayers.
