Actor explains his 'farewell tweet' as he survives on "Empire"

In the episode which aired on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, Jamal took the bullet for his homophobic father, Lucious Lyon, and was assumed dead by fans.

Following the episode, Smollett took to Twitter to tweet what was seen as a farewell tweet.

On season two finale episode, his character survived, and even got to be a part of Hakeem's almost-happened wedding.

The actor once again took to Twitter to explain his previous tweet.
