Jović Impressive in Miami's Narrow Loss, First Preseason Win for Toronto and Rajaković! /VIDEO/
Darko Rajaković's Toronto Raptors picked up their first win of the preseason in a clash played in Vancouver.
Facing the former team of Kawhi Leonard—who arrived in Toronto via a summer trade but sat out this contest—the Raptors controlled the lead from start to finish on their way to victory.
The Clippers took the fourth quarter to trim the margin, but it wasn't enough to prevent defeat.
Rajaković's squad was paced by RJ Barrett with 20 points, Immanuel Quickley added 18, and Collin Murray-Boyles chipped in 13. For the Clippers, Rui Hachimura scored 14 points, while Darius Garland finished with 11.
Miami Falls Short, Jović Shines
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat suffered their first preseason defeat, dropping a dramatic 125-124 home thriller against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Nikola Jović delivered a standout performance for Miami, once again making a strong case to Erik Spoelstra for an increased role. The Serbian forward logged around 25 minutes, racking up 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, along with six rebounds and three assists, including a few highlight-reel passes.
Ryan Conwell led the way for Miami with 22 points and nine assists, while Vladislav Goldin added 18. For Minnesota, Bones Hyland poured in 23 points, one more than Zion Pullin.
The game came down to the wire, decided with just two seconds remaining when Antonio Reeves knocked down the game-winner for the Timberwolves.
