Jović drains half-court buzzer-beater as Miami notches first win of the season /VIDEO/

Giannis Antetokounmpo tallied 24 points and 18 rebounds in his first win with the Heat, leading Miami to a 129-117 victory over Atlanta. Nikola Jović beat the halftime buzzer from half-court following a Jock Landale miss to send Miami into the break with a 13-point lead.

Bam Adebayo also recorded 24 points and pulled down nine rebounds for Miami, who had dropped their first four games after acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee in the offseason. In the process, Adebayo surpassed Udonis Haslem to become the Florida franchise's all-time leading rebounder.

Andrew Wiggins added 18 points, while Pelle Larsson contributed 17 points, eight assists, and six rebounds for the Heat, who shot 53% from the field and dominated with a staggering 70 points in the paint.

Rookie Kingston Flemings and Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 23 points each for the Hawks, who have now lost three in a row after starting the season with two straight wins. Jalen Johnson went just 4-of-12 from the floor, finishing with 12 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds.

This was the first leg of a home back-to-back for Atlanta. Tip-off for their Thursday clash against Cleveland was pushed back by an hour to accommodate Game 6 of the WNBA Finals between Atlanta and Golden State at State Farm Arena earlier in the afternoon.

Miami came out firing, making 15 of 23 field goals (65%) in the opening quarter to take a 34-25 lead. They headed into halftime ahead 69-56 and built their largest lead late in the third quarter when a Tim Hardaway Jr. three-pointer made it 95-77.

Nikola Jović delivered a major highlight just before the break, gathering a missed three from Jock Landale and sinking a buzzer-beating heave from half-court to give his team a 13-point cushion. It was an important moment for the Serbian international, who has struggled to find his rhythm since the start of the campaign.

That second period proved to be his only action of the night, as he played all seven of his minutes in the second quarter, totaling five points and three rebounds.
