Jokic makes NBA history: Russell Westbrook's all-time triple-double record falls
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray spearheaded the massive comeback, with the Serbian superstar crowning a masterclass performance with another historic milestone.
Jokic finished the night with 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, marking his 199th regular-season triple-double. While that moves him to within just ten games of the regular-season record, he has already taken over the all-time combined record. Factoring in his 23 postseason triple-doubles, Jokic reached a career total of 222, officially eclipsing previous record-holder Russell Westbrook (221).
Trailing the top two on the all-time combined leaderboard are some of basketball's biggest icons: Oscar Robertson with 189, Magic Johnson with 168, and LeBron James with 153 career triple-doubles.
The victory was Denver's first of the campaign, bouncing back after their season-opening defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder two days earlier.
