According to "Basket News," the Denver Nuggets are reportedly showing significant interest in Alpha Diallo, one of EuroLeague's premier defenders. While Diallo has an agreement in place with Dubai, there's a potential clause allowing him to opt out by July 15th and head to Colorado.
The Guinean player was named EuroLeague's Best Defender this season, averaging 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and a PIR of 13.6 in 28 minutes per game.
He has spent all five of his EuroLeague seasons with Monaco, where he developed into one of the competition's top two-way wing players. Should the Nuggets secure him, they would be adding a formidable reinforcement, potentially the best defensive player on their roster.
Monaco faced considerable financial challenges throughout the season but still managed to reach the EuroLeague playoffs. The depleted Monegasques were no match for Olympiacos, who swept them 3-0. However, they did clinch the French league title. Next year, they will compete in the EuroCup, not the EuroLeague.
