This week, at a fan event in London, movie giant, Warner Bros revealed that instead of just three Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, there will now be five.
Shortly after the event, the author took to Twitter, where she teased why this new franchise needs to be expanded.
And she was bombarded with questions which she answered diligently.
For those who do not understand, she answered again with various variations of five.
Rowling was very clear that she doesn’t mean “at least” five movies. She means FIVE MOVIES.
She insist that the story is one worth telling:
After Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts 2 will hit theaters on November 16, 2018, with Fantastic Beasts 3 expected to round out this spin-off trilogy in 2020.
No release dates have been given for the fourth and fifth movies at this time.
“We’ve now done the plotting properly, and we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be five movies,” Rowling said at the event.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton and Ron Perlman. It opens in theaters on November 18th.
Eddie Redmayne will star in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as wizard author Newt Scamander, and he is expected to also star in the four sequels.
