Nigerian-American singer, Jidenna has signed deals with American record labels Epic Records, Sony Music West Africa and Sony Music South Africa, all subsidiaries of Sony Music Entertainment.
This he did to get a global distribution and penetration for his forthcoming debut album.
JidennaĀ will tour the African continent for a series of exclusive performances, album release parties and the filming of a BBC documentary, which will chronicle his homecoming journey to Nigeria.
Speaking on the album,Ā JidennaĀ saysĀ āThe record as a whole represents all my experiences of the many worlds Iāve lived in and traveled through from Lagos to Los Angeles.ā
The singerĀ kicks off his trip to Africa in late August.
Jidenna will make his way down to his home country Nigeria first, where he would be having an exclusive album launch event featuring a live performance at Hard Rock Café in Lagos on September 1, 2016.
While in Nigeria, the singer will also film an exclusive documentary about his journey back to his childhood home in Enugu.
Ultimately,Ā JidennaĀ will head on to Johannesburg, South Africa for a promotional tour which will includeĀ interviewsĀ with leading radio stations and lifestyle publications;Ā as well as an album launch party.
Jidenna is best known for his popular song 'Classic man' featuring Roman GianArthur which was nominated at the 58th Grammy Awards held on February 2016 for Best rap/sung collaboration, a single contained in his collective EP "The Eephus" with Janelle Monae for Wondaland Records.
The Nigerian-American singer has released two singles in 2016 - 'Chief don't run' and the more recent 'Little bit more' with both expected on the album.
