The Secretary-General of FIFA, Jerome Valcke has been indefinitely suspended over corruption allegations.
Valcke, 54, was allegedly involved in a scheme to sell World Cup tickets for above face value.
Report said the Frenchman, who has been FIFA scribe since 2007, was relieved of his duties on Thursday until further notice.
A statement by FIFA said it has "been made aware of a series of allegations involving the secretary general".
The Football's world governing body has been inundated allegations of widespread corruption since May. The corruption saga drew more international attention when Swiss police raided a hotel in Zurich and arrested seven of its top executives.
United States officials have since indicted those seven and two other Fifa officials on bribery and racketeering charges.
