Actress joins 'Supergirl' as Lucy Lane

Jenna Dewan Tatum is the latest addition to the cast of the eagerly-anticipated CBS/Warner Bros. drama series

The 34-year-old has signed on to play Lucy Lane - Superman's younger cousin on show.

Described as brash, funny, beautiful , strong, smart and successful , the character Lane comes to town to right a previous wrong.

Tatum will make her debut on the show’s third episode, which would air November 9.  Lucy Lane was first introduced back in the Silver Age, where she worked as both a flight attendant.

The upcoming superhero series revolves around Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) who escapes the destruction on Krypton to join her cousin on Earth.

also stars  Mehcad Brooks, Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Faran Tahir, Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

Supergirl is scheduled to debut in November.
