Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren has turned down a five-year, $200 million contract extension offer from the franchise.

The 22-year-old Duren is currently a restricted free agent, leaving him with two primary paths: sign Detroit's long-term extension or accept a one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer to hit unrestricted free agency next summer.

Duren's camp confirmed that the center will not attend today's media day, which officially opens the Pistons' preseason training camp. It is still uncertain when he might accept the qualifying offer or whether he plans to hold out in hopes of Detroit increasing its initial proposal.

Last season, Duren earned his first career All-Star selection, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while helping guide Detroit to the top seed in the Eastern Conference regular season.

However, the playoffs proved to be a major disappointment for both Detroit and Duren. His production dipped to 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as the Pistons were eliminated in the second round, losing a hard-fought seven-game series 4-3 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Prior to that, Detroit narrowly avoided a first-round exit, overcoming a 3-1 series deficit against the Orlando Magic to advance in seven games.
