Jack Grealish was dropped from Everton's squad for their Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Newcastle United following a breach of club discipline, according to The Sun. The winger, currently on loan at Goodison Park from Manchester City, missed the weekend fixture against Arsenal through illness but had been expected to make his return against the Magpies. Instead, the club confirmed the 31-year-old would be unavailable after violating internal rules.

Reports from The Sun claim Grealish was disciplined for missing a training session without permission. Everton did not disclose further details regarding the matter, but their official team news statement read: "Jarrad Branthwaite remains absent for a second consecutive match due to concussion protocols, while Jack Grealish is unavailable due to a breach of club discipline."

Manager David Moyes also declined to elaborate on the situation following the 3-1 victory over Newcastle, but backed the hierarchy's stance. "I'm not going to get into any details. The club made this decision and I support it. I don't want to say anything more on the matter, but I back the decision," the Scotsman stated.

Grealish rejoined Everton for a second consecutive loan spell after being deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester City. He has made six appearances across all competitions so far this season, yet to register a goal or an assist. His previous campaign was also cut short due to a stress fracture in his left foot, which required surgery in February.
