The buzz surrounding Željko Obradović's return to the green side of Athens shows no signs of dying down. And it seems it won't anytime soon, as Europe's most decorated coach gave his first interview to Greek media since rejoining Panathinaikos, igniting and thrilling the fans.

During his appearance on the Greek television show "Playmakers" on Nova, Obradović stated he hadn't anticipated such a massive turnout of fans at the OAKA Arena for his return, expressing gratitude to club president Dimitris Giannakopoulos for the opportunity.

"Honestly, I didn't expect so many people to show up. It's clear they love me. It's nice to talk about the past, but the future is what matters most now. This is a huge opportunity for me and my career. I thank Dimitris Giannakopoulos for giving me the chance to return. I found many people I've worked with before. We need patience to build what we want. I've come to a team I deeply love. I spoke with Dimitris Giannakopoulos, and we understood each other. It was an easy decision. I have an immense fire within me." - Željko Obradović

The Serbian coaching maestro confirmed that Mike Batiste, a player with whom he won numerous trophies at Panathinaikos, will be part of his coaching staff.

"I spoke with Mike, and he will be here. He knows Panathinaikos' history. I'm happy to work with people who love Panathinaikos. We must show everyone that we are a big family, and this is my path." - Željko Obradović

He then addressed the players who will don the Greens' jersey next season, especially given the weeks of speculation in European media about various players being linked to moves to and from Athens.

"I will adapt my philosophy to the quality of the players. Not just now, but in every environment. It's not easy, but I have to help everyone understand how I work. I like to talk to players. I spoke with Sloukas; he's the team captain. I met Nunn and Juancho, as well as almost all the Greek players. I will talk to everyone depending on the schedule. How do you fight rumors? It's summer now, so rumors are normal. I suppose they have to write something." - Željko Obradović

He also commented on the speculation surrounding Bonga's potential transfer from Partizan to PAO.

"Who knows? Maybe one day I'll see Bonga here, I hope so." - Željko Obradović
