Isack Hadjar has firmly dismissed reports suggesting Red Bull intend to impose restrictions on his off-track activities following the wrist fracture he sustained during Formula 1's summer break.
The Frenchman laughed off the speculation, insisting he is not "five years old" when asked whether the Milton Keynes-based outfit would tighten their control over his free time. While official details remained scarce, the 21-year-old reportedly fractured the outside of his left wrist while hitting a punching bag as part of his training for the Dutch Grand Prix.
The injury ruled Hadjar out of the race at Zandvoort, with the following rounds at Monza and Madring coming too soon for a return behind the wheel of the RB22. In his absence, Liam Lawson stepped in alongside Max Verstappen, while Yuki Tsunoda took the New Zealander's place at Racing Bulls.
Despite the disrupted campaign, the six-time constructors' champions confirmed during media day in Baku that they are retaining Hadjar in their line-up for 2027. The team have also avoided placing any strict limits on his personal hobbies, though Hadjar admitted he is not fully versed in every single clause of his new deal.
"Next time I'll just be more careful. Maybe I'll wrap my hands, and that's it. These things happen. I don't have any bans. I'm not five years old, so I just need to think ahead," Hadjar said.
