Keshi Assures Nigerians Of Iran Defeat

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have responded to the greetings and well wishes of the Nigerian community with assurance that they will not disappoint against Iran on Monday June 16.

Speaking to a Nigerian delegate that came visiting, the Nigerian coach, Stephen Keshi promised that he and his team will do everything possible to bring smiles to the faces of millions of expectant fans back home and abroad, addressing the Nigerian delegate, he said 'we will make him (president) proud.

The captain of the side, Joseph Yobo likewise thanked every Nigerian for their support, especially the government delegation led by Senate President David Mark for honouring them with their visit and message from the president. He also said that he and his colleagues are battle ready and are looking forward to making history at the tournament.

The Sports Minister Dr. Tammy Danagogo also assured the Nigerian delegation that the team will not disappoint, he said: ''they are here to put in their very best and we know that, if they do, then anything can happen.''

He also admonished the team further not tonrelent or fear any opposition in the World Cup, ''if you can get to the finals, you can get to anywhere.'' he added.

The team is already in their match venue Curitiba, they were reported to have arrived on Saturday.
