According to reports, Boko Haram terrorists attacked a market just outside the Borno state capital

AFP reports that Boko Haram has attacked a market in Ngom village, some 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Witnesses reportedly told of the attack, which occurred at about 1:00 pm on Friday, September 12.
The insurgents, numbering about 50, were said to have invaded the market on motorbikes and opened fire on the traders.
One trader, Tanimu Goni reportedly said”
“They (Boko Haram) came on motorcycles and opened fire on the market. They killed many people,”

Another trader, Nafiu Umarari, added:
“They fired indiscriminately and killed a lot of people.”
Boko Haram has taken over some communities in the state and reportedly expressed a desire to capture Maiduguri.
