Manchester United confirmed his early return after Denmark manager Brian Riemer told TV2: "He is injured and has to go home." The Danish FA subsequently announced on X that Dorgu had been forced to leave the national team camp due to fitness issues.

There were also question marks over the fitness of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder was rested as a precaution during Sunday's victory over Norway after playing 89 minutes against Wales last week. Portugal manager Jorge Jesus is confident he will be ready for Thursday's fixture, with Manchester United expecting him to return to action against Denmark.

Elsewhere, the Old Trafford outfit announced the signing of 16-year-old prospect Isaac Konde from rivals Liverpool. The youngster featured for Liverpool's Under-18s last season, according to news agency DPA.
