Challenged by students from UNILAG and UNIBEN, who built their own versions of energy-efficient car for the international Shell Eco-marathon, these students came up with the ingenious idea to build an eco-friendly car.

These days, taking care of the environment/ecosystem is extremely important because of all of the damage already done to it especially with global warming(a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere)as the result.

With this in mind, a group of students from the University of Lagos have built an eco-friendly car, their first model, Dove P1, right there in at the University of Lagos, making use of locally sourced materials.

Built under the Project Dove Initiative, the students say the Dove P1 does not diffuse gas or make use of fossil fuel.

Just last year, students from the University Of Lagos (UNILAG) and University of Benin (UNIBEN) built their own versions of energy-efficient car for the international Shell Eco-marathon.

A marathon that challenges student from around all the world to design, build and test ultra-energy efficient vehicles.

Hopefully, we see more of these eco-friendly cars to combat all the damages already done to the ecosystem.
