The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it have seized Indian hemp and some other drugs worth N2.5 million in Zaria, Kaduna State.

According to the zonal commander of the agency. Sunday Azinge, who disclosed the news to the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday, a 70-year-old man and 17 other suspects linked to the crime were arrested by the agency’s drug task force.

“This is a task force established by the Kaduna Stare Government.

“It comprises the military, para-military and the Police.

“We all work together to achieve one goal: drug-free society.

“We started operation in October and we have recorded a lot of successes.

“As you can see, almost one tone of cannabis sativa has been seized.” Says Sunday Azinge.

The NDLEA commander further revealed that the intercepted drugs included 96 bags of cannabis valued at N25, 000 each and 67 compressed wraps valued at N7, 000 each.
