Worshippers were attending noon prayers at the Badr and al-Hashoosh mosques when at least two bombers struck.

The mosques are reportedly used mainly by supporters of the Zaidi Shia-led Houthi rebel movement, which controls Sanaa.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but al-qaeda militants have carried out similar attacks.

The attack comes a day after Yemeni president, Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi was evacuated from his hiding place in Aden after an air raid was carried out by rebel forces.
