18-yr-old girl kills mother with plank over order to cook, disappears

An 18-year old girl has disappeared after killing her mother with a plank of wood following an altercation.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Rumuchakara village, Choba, a host community to the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Vanguard reports.

But the latter refused and the mother slapped her in the ensuing confrontation.

Reports say she reacted by hitting her mother on the head with a plank, causing fatal injuries.

Attempts to save the woman's life failed.

The alleged murderer fled the scene and has not been seen since then.

It was reported that enraged members of the community gathered after the incident.

Community leaders decreed that the girl must never return to the community.
