Police restate ban on carnivals
Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has witnessed countless cases of violence during carnivals.
As a result of this, the police has sought to enforce a law that bans such events and activities.
Three suspects that were arrested by police in connection to an Eid-El-Kabir carnival that ended up in bloodshed in Ekotedo area have been arraigned.

The two leaders of rival cult groups are still at large and have been declared wanted by the police command as they are the alleged masterminds behind the bloody clash.
The Oyo State Police Commissioner, Samuel Adegbuyi, told reporters while addressing them that there is no hiding place for said cult leaders who are identified as Ogungbemi and Ojoweli.
Adegbuyi also promised that anyone caught causing trouble would be severely dealt with.
"The two cult leaders have been declared wanted and the police are doing everything possible to bring them to justice. The law banning carnival in the state is still in force. And the people are reminded that the police will not allow any breakdown of law and order," the commissioner said.
