Edgar was recently promoted by the Police Service Commission before his appointment by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

Edgar was previously the state's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in-charge-of Operations.

According to Sahara Reporters, Owoseni has been sent to administration section of Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Abuja.
