Government relaxes curfew in Iloffa and Odo Owa

The curfew will now operate between 10pm and 6am daily with effect from Thursday, September 7, 2017.

The Kwara state government has relaxed the curfew imposed on Odo Owa and Iloffa Communities in Oke Ero local government area of the state in the aftermath of a violent conflict between the communities.

In a statement, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Sola Gold, said the curfew will now operate between 10pm and 6am daily with effect from Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Alhaji Gold urged residents of Odo Owa and Iloffa to continue to maintain the peace and comply with the curfew in the overall interest of the people of both communities.

Alhaji Gold said the government is currently studying the report of the judicial commission of inquiry into the crises with a view to its implementation.
