More than 12 people have died in a battle between Shiites and police officers

The incident occurred around the Tamburawa area on Monday, November 14, after the police made attempts to stop a Shiite protest, reports say.
One of the deceased persons is a police officer.
Police officers in the state are said to have been deployed to the area to maintain the peace leading to the blockage of the Kano- Zaria road.
The attack comes almost a year after a clash between the Nigerian army and members of the group in Zaria, Kaduna state which led to the capture of its leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

The activities of the IMN were recently banned in Kaduna.
