4 people were injured before the big cat was tranquilised by forest officials.

"It was a long struggle to capture the leopard," said Deputy Police Commissioner Dr S Boralingaiah told Mirror UK.

"Although it was injected with tranquilisers it could be captured only around 8.15pm when the medication took full effect."

Rescuers have taken the animal to a sanctuary at Bannerghatta National Park. Mirror UK added.
