The Attorney-General of Guatemala, Thelma Aldana has issued an arrest warrant for President Otto Pérez, after lawmakers stripped him of immunity over a corruption case.

This is coming days before the presidential election.

According to The Guardian, the President is accused of  illicit association, fraud and receiving bribe money related to a customs fraud syndicate.

The President's lawyer says he will present himself in court, by 8 a.m. on Thursday.
