Hundreds of Adamawa state residents displaced after attack by suspected herdsmen

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr Lawal David Babachir, has expressed shock over attack on Adamawa State communities which has thrown hundreds of residents into untold hardship.

Suspected herdsmen attacked four villages of Koh, Ndikajam, Tabongo and Dymsare in Gerei local government Area of Adamawa state, killed a police DPO and over 80 other civilians and destroyed many houses.

Babachir has said that the Federal Government assists people affected by the Girei attack to assuage their sufferings.

The SGF stated this through his representative, a special assistant to the president on political matters, Ayuba Musa Birma, during a presentation of building materials to the victims, by an NGO, Adalchi Group in Koh village.

Babachir who expressed shock over the level of devastations caused to the affected communities in addition to lost of lives and properties, said the people of the area have been subjected to an untold hardship.The SGF also urged the people to forgive and live in peace with one another and put the incidence behind them.

Vice chairman of the Adalchi Group, Comrade Mustapha Salihu commiserated with the affected communities and assured them of more supports and intervention by the group. Items donated include 200 bundles of zinc,120 bags of cement, 92 pieces of yam among others.
