Punch reports that the Senators were annoyed that the heads of the agencies, Babachir David Lawal, and Boboye Oyeyemi, the SGF and FRSC boss, respectively, were not present.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Yahaya Kaura said “I cannot understand why the SGF and the head of the FRSC failed to show up to defend their budget. That is not acceptable because the budget defence is something that should be taken seriously.

“Until they are prepared to appear themselves to defend their budget for this year, I’m sorry to say this committee would not entertain their representatives.”

Meanwhile the Senate has reacted to the trial of its President. Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, referring to it, as a political vendetta.
