Gresini Ducati has confirmed that Fermin Aldeguer will also sit out next week's Malaysian Grand Prix in MotoGP as he continues to recover from the injury sustained in Indonesia.

The Spaniard suffered a fractured phalanx in his right thumb, which underwent surgery in Barcelona on October 13, ruling him out of the Australian Grand Prix. Gresini Ducati called up World Superbike (WorldSBK) rider Iker Lecuona to step in at Phillip Island, and the Spaniard will continue to deputise for Aldeguer at Sepang next weekend.
Aldeguer is targeting a return at the Qatar Grand Prix, scheduled for November 6–8. However, the race weekend at Lusail remains in doubt, despite being less than two weeks away.
