Igor Thiago scored his second goal of the week to help Brentford secure a 2-0 home victory over Nottingham Forest. The Bees took the lead through a Nikola Milenkovic own goal on the half-hour mark before the Brazilian forward wrapped up the points in the 76th minute.
After a cagey opening with few clear chances, a moment of quality from Dango Ouattara broke the deadlock. The Burkina Faso international skipped past Murillo and delivered a cross that deflected off Milenkovic and looped over the goalkeeper. Brentford captain Mathias Jensen nearly doubled the lead just before the break, but his free-kick struck the woodwork.
Forest registered far more attempts on goal but struggled to find a way past Kelleher. Their best chance came early in the second half when substitute Ryan Yates headed over from close range. Thiago then put the game to bed with his fourth goal of the campaign, finishing off a sharp counter-attack initiated by substitute winger Jaidon Anthony.
