1. The movie told the story of Agbonma, who, in an attempt to fit into the elite class, changed her name to Imperial.

2. Screenplay was by Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, who also played the lead character.

3. Ekeinde wasn't supposed to play the lead character, but the director Tchidi Chikere insisted after reading the script.

4. According to Ekeinde, the script was inspired by the lifestyle of a Nollywood actress back then.

5. "I Belong" moviestarred Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde as Imperial/Agbonmah, Lilian Bach as Bridgiditta, Ada Ameh as Bessey, JT Tom West as Stan, Tom Njemanze as Nkwo, Offia Afuluagu Mbaka as Dan and Dan Nkoloagu as David.
