Hürzeler Has No Interest in Manchester United Job

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler is not interested in taking over at Manchester United at this stage and would turn down the Red Devils if approached, according to The Sun. The 33-year-old German, who has been making waves with the Seagulls, has emerged in the English media as a potential successor should Michael Carrick be dismissed. However, Hürzeler is driven to guide Brighton into the Champions League and has no intention of walking away. Reports suggest he would only consider leaving for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, or Manchester City, though none of those clubs are planning managerial changes anytime soon.

Having signed a new three-year contract with Brighton just a few months ago, United would have to pay substantial compensation should they pursue him. Furthermore, his contract does not contain a release clause that would facilitate an easy exit.

According to today's reports in the British media, Julian Nagelsmann is currently the frontrunner for the Manchester United hot seat. Antonio Conte is no longer viewed as a viable candidate, as Old Trafford chiefs are looking for a different profile and are reportedly wary of the Italian's abrasive and confrontational style. Eddie Howe and Kieran McKenna also remain on the shortlist.
