Premier League newcomers Hull City have secured the signing of Senegalese defender Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano. The club announced a five-year deal with an option for an additional year.
While financial details were not disclosed, British media reports indicate the transfer is valued at approximately €25 million, plus add-ons. This figure surpasses the Tigers' previous record of £20 million, set earlier this month for Greek goalkeeper Konstantinos Tsolakis.
Mendy netted two goals in 28 appearances during his sole season with Rayo, having joined them from Betis. At Betis, he made six appearances and contributed to their run to the 2025 Conference League final.
“Ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of playing in the Premier League, so this is a huge challenge, and I’m ready for it,” Mendy stated.
