Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike, who ruptured his Achilles tendon during the clash against Paris Saint-Germain on April 14, could make his return to action before the end of the year. The Frenchman has been included in the Merseysiders' Champions League squad for the league phase, with manager Andoni Iraola stating last month that there is a realistic chance he could feature in the competition by January.
According to L'Equipe, the forward recently travelled to the United States for a specialist consultation. His rehabilitation is progressing smoothly, with the plan set for him to resume training in November and potentially make his first-team return as early as December.
Ekitike finished as Liverpool's top scorer last season, finding the net 17 times across all competitions.
