The information was released by Shams Charania, currently the top NBA insider. Both teams began to more concretely consider signing Mario Hezonja after LeBron James made his final decision regarding his career.

"Another player drawing interest from Cleveland and Golden State is Mario Hezonja," Charania briefly stated.

LeBron James chose Philadelphia, bringing an end to one of the biggest stories of this year's transfer window. His decision allowed other clubs to continue building their rosters and turn to alternative options.

Cleveland was one of the serious contenders for LeBron's return to the club he led to their only NBA title in 2016. After missing out on him, the Cavaliers' management shifted their focus to strengthening the team's wing positions. This is precisely the area of the roster where Cleveland seeks additional depth and quality, and Hezonja is on their list alongside Jonathan Kuminga.

Acquiring Kuminga could prove to be a significantly more complicated endeavor. Due to his status, it would likely require a "sign-and-trade" deal involving multiple players or additional draft picks.

Hezonja's arrival would be much simpler to execute. The Croatian basketball player activated an opt-out clause in his contract with Real Madrid, opening the door for a direct return to the NBA.

Cleveland would gain height, physical strength, and additional scoring from the wing positions with him. Hezonja stands at 206 centimeters (6'9").

His ability to play off-ball could integrate well with the Cavaliers' existing stars.

At the same time, he can take on offensive responsibility when the team's primary scorers are resting.

However, Cleveland is also considering some bigger names that have not yet been publicly revealed.

Golden State's interest presents an equally intriguing opportunity for Hezonja.

For years, the Warriors have valued tall, versatile wings who can shoot, switch defensively, and play in a fast-paced system.

The Croatian international possesses precisely these characteristics.

His game is significantly more mature and stable than during his first NBA stint.

Hezonja has made a return "across the pond" his absolute priority this summer. This is why he rejected the possibility of signing conditional contracts with several EuroLeague clubs.
