Honda's factory MotoGP team has officially announced that Diogo Moreira will partner Fabio Quartararo for the 2027 premier-class campaign.
The Brazilian made his MotoGP debut at the start of 2026 with satellite outfit LCR Honda under a direct contract with the manufacturer. Earlier this summer, Honda confirmed the signing of David Alonso ahead of MotoGP's new 850cc era, but did not specify which team the Colombian would ride for.
The same uncertainty had applied to Moreira, who has enjoyed a solid rookie season in MotoGP, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the Japanese Sprint. His strong performances convinced Honda bosses to promote him to the factory seat alongside 2021 World Champion Quartararo.
Meanwhile, Alonso will make his MotoGP debut with LCR Honda, partnering veteran French rider Johann Zarco.
