Hezonja bids an emotional farewell to Real: "I know I drove you crazy..."

After much deliberation over the past month, I've decided to focus on the positives. My time in Madrid allowed me the privilege of sharing the locker room and life with extraordinary teammates and coaches, individuals with whom I know I'll maintain lifelong connections. I managed to achieve something incredibly difficult, something I will carry with immense respect and affection for the rest of my life – a bond with the fans. There were nights when I surely drove you crazy with a shot only Mario would attempt, and there were times when you drove me crazy. I suppose that's how all truly important relationships are. From day one here, my message was clear: win everything. And we did – games, battles, wars, titles… EVERYTHING! But if anyone truly won me over forever, it was you. The fusion of my mentality, character, personality, and competitive spirit with Real Madrid's DNA is, without a doubt, one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I understood it all very quickly, perhaps even sooner than I imagined. This was my place, but the moment I thought would never come has arrived – to leave Real Madrid, to leave my home. This decision wasn't born from a lack of your love or a desire to stop fighting for this crest, but from circumstances that have led me down a different path. I would also like to thank President Florentino Pérez and everyone working at the club for these wonderful years. My gratitude also goes to Alberto Herreros and Rudy Fernández for their professionalism and the kind words they always had for me, both privately and in the media. Now, I continue my journey with the same enthusiasm and ambition with which I arrived. You know me well. I hope our paths cross again someday.
