"He's one of only four players since 2017..." This is how Houston welcomed the Serbian captain, Bogdan is officially a Rocket!
Bogdan Bogdanović (6'5", 225 lbs) was originally selected as the 27th pick in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. Throughout his career, he has played for the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, and most recently, the Los Angeles Clippers. Over nine seasons in the world's top league, he has played 526 games (200 starts), averaging 14.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.4 three-pointers per game.
Since his rookie season in 2017-18, Bogdanović is one of only four players to average at least 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 three-pointers while playing less than 30.0 minutes per game. While with the Hawks, he twice finished in the top six in voting for the league's Sixth Man of the Year award (in the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons).
Bogdanović is the all-time leading scorer for the Serbian national team in international competitions. He led the national team to a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Games. In 2025, Bogdanović was named to the EuroLeague's 25th Anniversary All-Decade Team.
Houston welcomed the brilliant Serbian star on its social media channels...
...and also shared a highlight reel of Bogdanović's skills from his past nine years in the NBA with Sacramento, Atlanta, and the LA Clippers:
As a reminder, Bogdan Bogdanović has decided to remain in the NBA for at least another year by signing a contract with the Houston Rockets, just days after being waived by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Bogdan had a turbulent last season in Los Angeles, where he struggled with injuries and inconsistent minutes in Tyronn Lue's rotation. It was the first such season of his career. However, despite strong interest from EuroLeague teams to bring him back to Europe, he chose to stay for his tenth year in the world's best league.
