Heavy Price for Belgium Loss: Senegal Sacks Coach After Round of 16 Exit

Thiaw led the West African team to the Round of 16 at the ongoing World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, where they fell 3-2 to Belgium after extra time, despite holding a 2-0 lead.

“The executive committee has decided to relieve coach Thiaw of his duties. The entire technical staff will also be departing,” the FSF announced, according to L'Équipe. The leading candidate for the vacant position is former French international and Dakar native, Patrick Vieira.
