Greetings to all basketball fans. You all know what happened two days ago. Edin Avdić has left us. Regional, European, and global basketball have lost a legendary commentator and journalist. I'm speaking about someone who was more than just a friend to me. Everything I could say about Edin wouldn't fit into the introduction of a single game. Not even an entire Olympiacos and Panathinaikos final series from back when we'd joke that you never knew when the game would start, how long it would last, or when it would even finish, would be enough. All those shows, all those hours, days, and nights spent in the commentary booth, where we looked forward to each new broadcast as if it were the first. It was back in 2009, Helios and Olimpija in the ABA League. That's how I'll always remember Edin. How he walked into the newsroom that December morning, with his characteristic smile. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. And which broadcast was our last... I don't want to know or remember it, even though this tragedy has extinguished all hope that it would be only temporary and short-lived. I don't want to remember the last broadcast, because I know that one day, in a better and fairer place, we will meet again. The best among us has left, and nothing will ever be the same without him. Edin, may you rest in peace and thank you; your work will live on for a long time, because legends like you never die.
