Frank Vogel spent the last two NBA seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, where he became Jason Kidd's lead assistant for the 2025/26 season. However, after the Texas franchise dismissed the legendary point guard and subsequently named Dusty May as the new head coach, Vogel began seeking a new role.

The seasoned strategist boasts an impressive 25 years of coaching experience in the world's premier basketball league, serving as both a head coach and an assistant. His most recent head coaching tenure was with the Phoenix Suns, whom he led during the 2023/24 season.

Basketball fans primarily remember Vogel for guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to an NBA championship in the 2020 "bubble." He also led the Indiana Pacers, during the Paul George era, to two consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearances in 2013 and 2014.

Following the departures of Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse from the Warriors' coaching staff this summer, the club's management actively sought suitable replacements. Vogel's arrival, known for his expertise as a top-tier defensive tactician, will be immensely significant for the San Francisco team ahead of the new 2026/27 season.
