2 new Harry Potter books are set for publication this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Bloomsbury Publishing announced on Tuesday, July 18, that the two new books will be released on Friday, October 20, 2017.
One of the books titled Harry Potter: A History of Magic - The Book Of The Exhibition explores the wizarding world through various subjects studied by their favourite characters at Hogwarts. Every chapter will showcase “a treasure trove of artefacts from the British Library and other collections around the world, besides exclusive manuscripts, sketches and illustrations from the Harry Potter archive,” according to the British publisher.
The second book Harry Potter: A Journey Through A History of Magic explores topics such as witchcraft and magical creatures.
Both books, which explore the magical world, are not new stories about the original Harry Potter characters as they delve into the growing world of Harry Potter's experiences, including the West End play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" and the Harry Potter Warner Brothers Studio tour, in north London.
The book exhibition, “A History of Magic,” which will feature some old manuscripts alongside original materials from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s archives will run from October to February at the British Library.
