Ofer Yanay, owner of EuroLeague team Hapoel Tel Aviv, which plays its home games in Israel, has extended an unusual invitation to NBA legend Dennis Rodman, asking him to visit Israel to conduct a rebounding seminar for the basketball club.

According to Noah Poplinger of Sport5, Yanay personally sent a letter to Rodman, offering to cover business class flights and hotel accommodation for him and up to three additional guests. The proposed fee for the visit is approximately $100,000.

Yanay explained that despite Hapoel's rapid ascent over the past three years, one persistent issue remains.

"Apparently, even when building an ambitious basketball team, money can't solve everything," Yanay wrote.

The Hapoel owner shared that he has long been fascinated by Rodman's approach to rebounding and how the five-time NBA champion meticulously studied shooting angles, ball spin, and how it bounces off the rim.

"I thought: instead of talking about rebounding, why not invite the man who turned it into an art form?" Yanay wrote.

Under the proposed plan, Rodman would spend several days in Tel Aviv. The itinerary includes a rest day upon arrival, followed by a specialized rebounding workshop with Hapoel players, a VIP meeting and interview, and a team dinner.

"We will cover business class flights and hotel accommodation for you and, at your discretion, up to three additional guests. We will also offer you a fee of approximately $100,000 for the visit and activities," Yanay stated in his letter.

Hapoel will also gain the rights to use media materials filmed during Rodman's visit for the club's marketing and promotional purposes.

Yanay even offered to introduce Rodman to Tel Aviv's nightlife, promising VIP access to selected venues during his stay.

"One thing I can promise you: you will receive a lot of love here – from me, from our club, and especially from the thousands of passionate Hapoel Tel Aviv fans," Yanay concluded.

The 65-year-old Rodman is considered one of the greatest rebounders in NBA history. The Hall of Famer won five NBA championships, led the league in rebounding seven times, and was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year twice during his 14-year career.
