The Manchester City striker shares a special connection with England. He was born in Leeds while his father, Alf Haaland, played for local club Leeds United before moving to Manchester City. Due to this, the prolific goalscorer holds dual citizenship.

Since 2022, Haaland has been a key player for the Citizens, boasting an impressive record of 112 goals in 132 appearances for the club.

When asked if he would back England following Norway's exit, Haaland responded positively: "Yes, why not? I have friends at Manchester City who play for that team. I want them to do well. Even as a child, I had an England jersey before I owned a Norway one."

Beyond current teammates, Haaland also maintains close relationships with former colleagues in the England squad. One such player is Jude Bellingham, who scored both goals in England's victory over Norway. The two were teammates at Borussia Dortmund.

"Jude is a good friend of mine; we spent two wonderful years together in Dortmund. He's a very pleasant guy," Haaland shared. "I'm not at all surprised he scored both goals because he's in excellent form. I think he's unfairly criticized for not scoring consistently. Jude is an incredible footballer, and the English are lucky because everyone wants a player like him."
